Starting an Entry: Step by Step

1

Choose Your Prompt

Browse through your chapter's questions. Each shows the question, estimated writing time, and prompt type ( Quick Answer Detailed Story or Deep Reflection)

2

Click Start Entry

Hit the brown Start Entry button next to your chosen prompt. You'll be taken straight to the editor

3

Begin Writing

You'll see your prompt at the top, a clean writing space below, formatting tools when you highlight text, and an auto-save indicator

4

Write Your Story

Write naturally like you're telling the story to a friend. No pressure to be perfect - you can always edit later. Use the Ghostwriter if you get stuck

What Happens After You Start

Your work auto-saves as you type, so you can come back anytime to add more. When you're happy with your entry, mark it as complete (but you can always revisit it later).

Your Entry Appears in the Entries Tab

Switch to the Entries tab to see all your work, monitor your progress percentage for the chapter, and continue writing across multiple sessions.

Collaboration Features

If you've invited others to your project, they can read and add to your entry if permissions allow. Comments let them suggest improvements without changing your words.

Troubleshooting

Don't queue it! Not every question will resonate. Focus on the ones that do. Keepsake is about capturing the memories that matter to you.

As long as it needs to be. Some stories need three sentences, others need three pages. Let the story itself guide the length.

No worries - that's what auto-save is for. Come back when you're ready. Your draft will be waiting exactly where you left it.

Yes, you can remove any entry you're not happy with. Nothing is permanent. You can even keep the entries digitally and choose to not add them to your book.
