Automatic Formatting

When you add photos, Keepsake automatically:

  • Adds appropriate spacing around images
  • Maintains aspect ratios
  • Optimises for both web and print
  • Ensures text flows properly

Tips for Placing Photos

Consider Your Story Flow

  • Place photos near related text content
  • Use photos to break up long sections of writing
  • Position images to enhance the narrative, not distract from it

Multiple Photos

  • Add as many photos as you need to tell your story
  • Drag and drop works for single photos only
  • Arrange photos in chronological or thematic order

After Adding Photos

Once you've added photos to your story:

  • Auto-saved - Photos are automatically saved with your story
  • Editing options available - Right click on photos to access editing tools
  • Always moveable - You can reposition photos anytime by dragging or cutting and pasting

Troubleshooting

Common causes:

  • File type not supported (use JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP)
  • Internet connection interrupted
  • File corrupted

Try: Converting to JPEG or checking your connection

Possible reasons:

  • Low resolution original
  • Still processing (wait a moment)
  • Browser zoom level

Solution: Try the Enhance feature for AI upscaling

Check if:

  • You have edit permissions
  • The entry isn't marked complete
  • You're clicking directly on the image

Tip: Click and hold for a second before dragging

Optimise by:

  • Checking internet speed
  • Clearing browser cache
  • Waiting for initial processing
  • Refreshing the page

Tips for Great Visual Stories

Quality Over Quantity

A few meaningful photos create more impact than dozens of random images

Mix Old and New

Combine vintage photos with recent ones to show progression

Include Details

Close-ups of hands, objects, or places add intimate touches

Scan Physical Photos

Use a scanner app on your phone for old prints
