You can drag photos directly from your computer into your story, it's as easy as dragging a file into an email!
Drag and Drop
Open your story
Go to any story you're writing or editing
Find your photos
Locate the photos on your computer
Add photos into the editor
Simply drag the image files directly into your story text area
Drop to place
Release the photos where you want them to appear in your story

Moving Photos Around
Drag to Reposition
Click and hold any photo, then drag it to a new location in your story. Guide lines show placement.
Right-Click Options
Access alignment, sizing, and advanced positioning options through the context menu.
Automatic Formatting
When you add photos, Keepsake automatically:
- Adds appropriate spacing around images
- Maintains aspect ratios
- Optimises for both web and print
- Ensures text flows properly
Tips for Placing Photos
Consider Your Story Flow
- Place photos near related text content
- Use photos to break up long sections of writing
- Position images to enhance the narrative, not distract from it
Multiple Photos
- Add as many photos as you need to tell your story
- Drag and drop works for single photos only
- Arrange photos in chronological or thematic order
After Adding Photos
Once you've added photos to your story:
- Auto-saved - Photos are automatically saved with your story
- Editing options available - Right click on photos to access editing tools
- Always moveable - You can reposition photos anytime by dragging or cutting and pasting
Troubleshooting
Common causes:
- File type not supported (use JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP)
- Internet connection interrupted
- File corrupted
Try: Converting to JPEG or checking your connection
Possible reasons:
- Low resolution original
- Still processing (wait a moment)
- Browser zoom level
Solution: Try the Enhance feature for AI upscaling
Check if:
- You have edit permissions
- The entry isn't marked complete
- You're clicking directly on the image
Tip: Click and hold for a second before dragging
Optimise by:
- Checking internet speed
- Clearing browser cache
- Waiting for initial processing
- Refreshing the page
