A story is missing or has changed

What to do if a Keepsake story has disappeared, or someone has changed or deleted words in it. Most stories can be brought back.

Updated

If a story has gone missing, or its words aren't what you remember, it can almost always be brought back. Try these in order.

It's hidden by a search or filter

In the Entries tab, check you're on All chapters, and clear any search or filter: choose Clear filters if it shows. A story only shows in its own chapter. See The Entries tab.

It was moved to another chapter

Someone may have moved it. Choose All chapters and look for its title. See Move a story to another chapter.

It was deleted

Deleted stories wait in the project's Settings > Deleted items for 30 days. Choose Restore to bring one back. If its chapter was deleted, restore the chapter instead. Writers can restore the stories they added. See Delete and restore stories and chapters.

Words were changed or deleted

Keepsake keeps earlier versions of every story. Open the story, choose the gear, then Time Machine, and restore a version from before the change. See Go back to an earlier version of a story.

A photo is missing from a story

It may have been taken out of the words but still be under Not placed yet in the story's Photos, or it may be in Recently deleted. See Delete and restore photos.

It's not in the book

Only finished stories go in the book. If a story shows Draft, finish it. See Which stories go in your book.
