designed title page.

StoryWorth doesn't offer chapter title pages. With Keepsake, every chapter opens with a professionally designed spread. Choose from eight unique templates, then customise the title, blurb and illustration. The colour palette carries across your entire book, so every page feels cohesive and intentional.

The Lake House

RM
Synced

The lake house was a two-story weatherboard that leaned slightly to the left, as if the wind off the water had been pushing it for decades. Grandpa bought it in the seventies when land out there cost almost nothing. By the time we were old enough to remember, the paint was peeling and the screen door never quite closed, but none of that mattered. The jetty out the back was half-rotten but we'd still fish off it every afternoon, catching nothing and caring less. Nights were the best part. We'd drag the old couch cushions onto the veranda and lie there counting satellites.

Every summer we’d pack the car before dawn. Dad always insisted on making his terrible coffee first. The drive took three hours but felt like minutes with the windows down and the radio on. We’d pull up to the lake house just as the sun hit the water, and Mum would already be planning lunch before we’d even unpacked. The kids would run straight to the dock.

Real-time Collaboration

StoryWorth relies on an email-only workflow with no real-time collaboration. Keepsake lets the whole family write together in real time. See who's online, watch edits appear live, and build your story as a team.

Write together in real time. Unlike StoryWorth, everyone can contribute simultaneously.

Easy Sharing & Permissions

Invite family, friends or colleagues, then set their editing privileges. Share projects privately, and control who can view, comment or edit. Far more flexible than StoryWorth's limited sharing.

Queue your questions

Never feel rushed. Save questions you want to come back to later and add memories whenever the moment feels right, with zero pressure to answer them all at once. StoryWorth's weekly email format doesn't offer this flexibility.

Comments & Reactions

Frequently Asked Questions

StoryWorth is a US-based memoir platform that sends weekly email prompts to a loved one, collects their written responses over a year, and compiles them into a printed book. It's a well-known product, but it's designed primarily for the American market — pricing is in USD only, books are printed and shipped from the US, and the email-based workflow can feel limiting. If you're in Australia, an alternative like Keepsake gives you local pricing in AUD, local printing, and a full rich text editor instead of email replies.
StoryWorth ships internationally, but books are printed in the US, which means longer delivery times and potential customs fees for Australian customers. Free shipping is only available within the US. Keepsake prints locally within Australia, with 5-7 business days delivery and free shipping on your first book. No import charges or surprises.
StoryWorth charges $99 USD/year with no local currency option. For Australian customers, you'll pay in USD with your bank's exchange rate plus potential foreign transaction fees, and international shipping costs on top. Keepsake is priced in AUD at A$169/yr all-in, including your first hardcover book and free local shipping.
StoryWorth uses a weekly email prompt workflow — one person receives a question by email, types a reply, and their responses are compiled into a book after a year. Keepsake takes a different approach with a real-time collaborative editor where unlimited family members can write, comment, and react together in a rich text editor with photos, formatting, and layout control. StoryWorth's basic text editor doesn't support rich formatting or real-time collaboration.
Yes. If you've been using StoryWorth and want to try Keepsake, you can start fresh with a new project. There's no lock-in. Keepsake doesn't currently offer a direct import from StoryWorth, but you can copy your content across and take advantage of the richer editing tools and local printing.
No. StoryWorth's workflow is email-based — one person receives a prompt and replies individually. While recipients can invite others to contribute stories, there's no way to work together in the same document simultaneously. Keepsake offers live collaboration. Your whole family can be in the same entry at the same time, seeing each other's edits, leaving comments, and building the story together.
For Australian families, Keepsake is purpose-built with AUD pricing, local printing with 5-7 business days delivery, and a premium hardcover book included with every subscription. Unlike StoryWorth's email-only workflow, Keepsake gives you a full rich text editor, real-time collaboration, and unlimited projects. It's built by Australian founders who understand the needs of families outside the US market.
