Keepsake
Keepsake

Built entirely in-house in Brisbane

Every screen, feature and email in Keepsake is designed and built in our own office, never handed off to an outside agency, and we're proud to be making it here in Australia. This page is where I show the work: what I'm building now, what's next, and every change since the first version. Your ideas and votes help decide what comes next.

A Book tab in every project

Your book no longer waits at the end. It sits in its own tab from the first story, with volumes, reprints, Story by credits, a chat for every project and a Time Machine for every story.

    New

    • Book tab: You can now set your book's title, colour, cover and chapters while the stories are still coming in.
    • Reprints: You can now order more copies of any book you've printed, or reprint it with everything added since.
    • Volumes: You can now carry on in Volume 2 when a book is full or printed.
    • Story by credits: You can now credit a story to the person who told it.
    • Project chat: Every project now has a chat for everyone in it, beside the stories.
    • Time Machine: You can now step back through earlier versions of a story and restore one.

    Improvements and fixes

    • Admins: Admins can now shape the book with the owner: chapters, covers, volumes and printing.
    • Roles: The Editor role is now called Writer.
    • Photos: Photos you delete from a story now wait 30 days in Recently deleted.
    • eBooks: Every printed edition now has one eBook, shared with everyone in the project.
    • Stories: Stories now open with their photos in a pane beside the writing.
    • Editor: Photos you add now go after the line you're on, and no longer land inside a quote.
    • Invitations: Accepting an invitation or a gift now shows you the project before you sign up.
    • Settings: Account and project settings are reorganised into clearer sections.
    • Help centre: Every guide is now searchable, with a guided tour of your project in the Help menu.
    • Printing: Fixed long chapter titles running past the page number on the contents page.
    • Printing: Fixed long titles and author names running off the cover.
    • Stories: Fixed Writers being unable to delete their own story.

A quick hello from the developer

A little about me, and how I think about Keepsake.

Robert

Hi, I'm Robert.

Co-founder · Design and development

I've been working on Keepsake for three years now, and I'm really proud of both the platform and the books we print. From the start, Sasha and I knew both had to be exceptional: a platform you enjoy using and want to bring your family into, and books you're excited to open the day they arrive, and again in 30 years.

Before I got into design or code, I studied motion graphics, and that love of natural, organic movement shapes how I build Keepsake. You'll see it in the small animations that make it fun to use, and I want every part of it to feel just as natural.

I'm always refining Keepsake, so I'd love to hear your feedback and feature requests.

Thank you for taking the time to check us out.

Tell me what feature to build next

Keepsake gets better every time someone tells me what's missing. A big idea or a small annoyance, send it my way and I'll read it myself. Then we refine it together, out in the open, until it's right.
